Title:  
Autologous Peripheral Blood Stem Cell (PBSC) Transplantation Followed By Non-Myeloablative Allogeneic PBSC Transplantation in Patients With Multiple Myeloma

Purpose:  
This trial will couple an autologous transplant with multiple myeloma with a subsequent non-myeloablative sibling transplant in order to assess the feasibility of this approach and whether graft-versus-myeloma can improve disease-free survival.
Eligibility:   The eligibility criteria include the following:
  • Patients must have active multiple myeloma requiring treatment
  • No more than 12 months of prior alkylating-agent therapy
  • No more than 18 months of all prior therapy
  • No more than one prior progression after intial therapy
  • Greater than 4 weeks since prior treatment
  • Identification of an HLA-identical sibling donor
  • Age less than 65 years
  • Performance status of 0-1
  • DLCO greater than 40%
  • LVEF greater than 30%
  • No uncontrolled diabetes mellitus or active serious infection
